Description

The Valle d’Aosta Doc-FF Film Fund is a support fund established by the Valle d’Aoste Film Commission with the aim of promoting the production of documentaries and ‘first works’. ‘First works’ are debut fictional and animated films of a duration of over 60 minutes that are intended for distribution in cinemas or at film festivals.
The Valle d’Aosta Doc-FF Film Fund is designed for:

  • documentaries by Valle d’Aosta writers and producers or that tell stories and/or broach subject matters relating to the Valle d’Aosta;
  • ‘first works’ by Valle d’Aosta writers and producers or that tell stories or broach subject matters relating to the Valle d’Aosta.

Requirements

  • Production start date must be given
  • Minimum spend in the territory:

    120% of the total amount granted

Applicants must hold at least 50% of the rights to the project submitted or, if they hold a minority stake, must submit a document of approval from the majority producer.

Payment schedule

The grant will be paid by the Film Commission Vallée d’Aoste in two instalments:

  • an advance of 60% upon submitting a notice that work has begun to the Valle d’Aosta Film Commission.
  • the remaining 40% upon the completion of work and submitting the final expense report and the final materials due at every stage of production.

The timing of payment depends on the availability of funds. Film Commission Vallée d’Aoste reserves the right to request a bank guarantee to guarantee that the beneficiary fulfils their obligations.

Notes

The project must be made and completed within 12 months of the date of the notice that filming has begun, which must be submitted to the Film Commission in writing.
An extension, justified by filming schedules, may be requested.
